img21For people working in woodworking or similar industries, it is important to be ahead of the competition and be aware about the latest trends related to their job. Having the latest power tools as per the job requirement makes sure that you stay ahead of the curve and provide high quality service to your clients. Having proper knowledge about power tools and available options in market will provide an added advantage.

If you are looking to buy a power tool for your work, it is very easy to get confused because there are so many options available in the market. The first choice to make is, to whether go for the corded or cordless power tools. The first option will provide you with more power while the later offer more mobility. To make a choice, you will have to first review your job requirement and personal needs. If your job requires you to have tools with more mobility, then you should move ahead with the cordless option.

Both the aforesaid variants have their own advantages as well as disadvantages.  The power/performance of a cordless unit is completely dependent on its battery. If you are using the traditional batteries, there are chances that the performance of the tool may reduce significantly as the battery discharges. Whereas, there is no such issue with conventional corded tool because they have a constant power supply from the electrical outlet. The other big disadvantage of cordless tools is that they are less powerful as compared to their conventional counterpart. The presence of a battery makes the overall unit bulkier. Battery replacement  on the other hand leaves an additional cost burden on your pocket.

The corded tools on the other hand are less mobile and are not a preferable choice for a job which requires you to move from one place to another frequently. To use this variant, it is important to have a power outlet nearby, otherwise you will have to carry a very long power cord which can be very inconvenient.

As the demand for power tools is increasing globally and competition increasing, the manufacturers are working hard to improvise their products. The cordless tools are becoming more powerful and user friendly, they are becoming lighter and less expensive. Although, they cannot match the power and performance of a wired option, but still, the future belongs to them. However, for now, you should analyze your personal needs and buy a tool which meets your requirement.
